ROI Marketing Strategies was founded by Maureen Szlemp in June of 2009.
After 25 years in marketing communications at national and multi-national
Business-to-Business companies, Maureen decided it was time to strike out on
her own.
“The corporate world was good to me. It afforded me many opportunities to
develop my leadership and strategic planning skills as well as bolster my
knowledge and expertise in all areas of marketing communications, public and
analyst relations, and website and online marketing,” Maureen says.
As much as she valued her time working for large corporations, Maureen decided
that it was time to help small and mid-sized companies grow. There are many
smaller businesses that are at an inflection point – either sales grew at an
acceptable pace for a number of year but have begun to plateau; they want to
introduce a new product or open up a new market and don’t know how; or their
business is taking off and they need to focus on areas of the business other than
marketing.
“I really enjoy working with smaller companies. The entrepreneurial spirit is
infectious. Executives are by nature free thinkers, open to new ideas and want to
see results fast. This allows me to use my expertise to help define growth goals
and success measurements, map out a plan to achieve them, and then go do it,”
Maureen says.
Maureen has managed budgets from $50K to over $5M and has developed
organizational structures, hired talent and led entire marketing communications and
public relations departments. She has also rolled up her sleeves and done the
work – written copy for all types of communications, created databases, set up CRM
systems, developed survey instruments, planned media, setup and staffed trade
shows, photographed products and applications, introduced new products, created
landing pages, eNewsletters and updated website content.
“I am not a graphic designer, although I can crawl my way around Photoshop. I’m
also not a coder, although I do know some very basic HTML. I’ve had hands-on
experience and developed expertise in just about all the other areas of marketing
communications and PR,” Maureen says. |
